KANSAS CITY, Mo. - It is now 23 straight weeks, but this time the point margin is tighter. Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) holds onto No. 1 in the 2008 NAIA Baseball Coaches' Top 25 poll, announced today (March 19). The Warriors have been the top-ranked team in the last 23 straight polls dating back to the 2006 season. In this poll, the Warriors take 11 of the 19 possible first-place votes standing at 21-2 overall. Winners of the last two NAIA Championships, LCSC has secured 15 national championships.  The last time there was a different No. 1 was Oklahoma City in the 2006 Preseason Poll (Nov. 16, 2005). No. 2 Lee (Tenn.) and No. 3 Lubbock Christian (Texas) are inching closer to the top slot - Lee earned seven first-place nods while Lubbock collected the remaining two. No. 4 Azusa Pacific (Calif.) falls two holes while Oklahoma City at No. 5 rounds out the first five teams. The third regular season poll will be released on Wednesday, March 26. For more information on NAIA baseball, click here.
