Director of Planning, Research and Institutional Effectiveness

Under minimal supervision, the Director for Institutional Effectiveness coordinates the development of program goals, objectives, policies and standards for quality assurance for the missions and purposes of an instructional department at a college. The director also coordinates and oversees the strategic planning process for the College; analyzes and assesses the effectiveness of existing programs; is responsible for designing and executing a plan for maintaining accredited status for the academic and academic support programs; maintains the College’s performance accountability system; provides leadership to, and participates in, the development, implementation and evaluation of cultural affairs and special events. The Director is expected to research grants and other funding alternatives and supervise subordinate staff.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of: local, regional, national, international assessment issues; assessment and evaluation concepts, methods, and models; principles and theories of strategic and operational planning; current and innovative practices in assessment, planning, research, and institutional effectiveness; current practices in higher education, particularly community colleges; instructional programs and program development; learning and instructional theories and applications; budget development and administration.Ability to: conduct long-range planning and design relative to institutional effectiveness, assessment and planning programs; plan and implement assessment strategies; lead through collaboration; promote educational innovation and improvement; prepare, recommend and administer budgets; organize, prioritize, and coordinate the work of others; supervise assigned staff and special project directors; communicate effectively orally and in writing and establish cooperative working relationships with persons contacted in the course of performing assigned duties.


Minimum Qualifications:


A master's degree in administration, business, educational research, educational leadership or a closely related field *and* three years experience in planning and research.


Preferred Qualifications:


(In addition to minimum qualifications) A six-year administrative degree or a doctorate in an appropriate field. The appropriate degree will reflect the requirements of the college's accrediting agencies.

Program Manager (C.L.I.M.B.)
 

The Program Manager assists the Program Director in development of the CLIMB Program by recruiting prospective adult students and assisting those students in evaluating transfer credits and credit for prior learning. The manager also assists adult students in degree completion and portfolio development.

Director of Developmental Education (FAME)

The Director of Developmental Education is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the FAME (Focused Academics Motivating Excellence) Program to meet the identified needs of Academic Enrichment/Probation students. This position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs.
The successful candidate must possess, at a minimum, a Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling, Education or related field. A Doctorate is preferred. Candidate must also have significant budgeting expertise as well as experience in grant proposal writing. Must be adept at designing and evaluating program services in order to meet program objectives.

The Library Media Assistant provides support to faculty, staff, and students, and assists in making the library’s resources more user-friendly; and creates an environment of lifelong learning. Receptionist/Office Clerk

The Receptionist/Office Clerk provides support to the President by answering the telephones and maintaining a telephone message log. The Receptionist is responsible for maintaining a professional decorum in the reception area at all times, including keeping the reception area clean. The successful candidate will be expected to properly acknowledge all guests. Secondary duties include typing letters/memorandums and reports as needed, and opening and distributing mail.
