Degree Plan for Elementary Education
Degree: Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education
Requirements
General Education Students interested in majoring in Elementary Education are required to fulfill 47 or 48 general education requirements, complete an application for admission, and pass the General Knowledge portion of the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE). In addition, they must have earned a 2.5 GPA. The core courses are listed in the Degree Plan and College Catalog. As described in the Degree Plan, students are required to obtain minimum of 30 credit hours in the supportive courses.
Exit Exam Every student majoring in Elementary Education is required to pass the Subject Area: Elementary Education (K-6) Exam before entering Student Teaching (EDU 450) and they must pass the Professional Knowledge portion of the FTCE before graduating.
All Elementary Education majors are required to update their degree plan worksheet every semester until their graduation. This form should be attached to the graduation application form when students are ready to graduate.
