Student Support Services
Lead, Inspire, Make a Difference!
The Student Support Services (SSS) Program provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements, and serves to motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. The goal of SSS is to increase retention and graduation rates and facilitate the process of transition from one level of higher education to the next.
Academic Enrichment
Participants receive support in the areas of mathematics, reading comprehension, writing, study skills, and time management.
Counseling Services
The counseling program provides the following services to participants:
- Individual and Small Group Counseling Sessions
- Financial Aid/Money Management Workshops (Financial Literacy)
- Career Exploration
- Graduate and Professional Programs Preparation and Advising
- Academic Assistance
Tutorial Services
Student participants have access to regular seminars and tutorial assistance in the areas of mathematics, reading, and writing facilitated by experienced, well-trained academic specialists. In addition, peer tutors with a minimum 3.0 GPA in these subject areas are available to provide tutorial services to students requesting assistance on a one-on-one basis.
