Local Church Donates Offering to EWC

Jacksonville, Fla. – St. Philip’s Episcopal Church, located in downtown Jacksonville, raised $5,000 for Edward Waters College at its 4th annual EWC Day.

The event, which featured the Edward Waters College Concert Choir and an appearance by President Nathaniel Glover, nearly tripled the amount of funds donated from years past through “love offerings.”

The yearly fundraiser drew a fairly large crowd of church members and EWC alumni, students, faculty and staff into the St. Philip’s sanctuary, and the Choir’s unique arrangements of gospel tunes and melodies had the audience captivated for their entire performance.

“It is great to see the community come together to support Jacksonville’s HBCU,” said a College spokesman. “We are very appreciative of the church's commitment to our institution, and are already looking forward to a great event next year.”
