About the Program
The Community Integration Training Program at Edward Waters University (CITP-EWU) is a program offered through the Department of Natural, Social and Behavioral Sciences. Housed in the area of Psychology CITP is the result of a HSRA Behavioral Health Workforce Education and Training for Paraprofessionals (BHWET) grant. This program is funded in part by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) grant number 6M01HP42504-01-01.
The CITP at EWU training program is a Florida Certification Board (FCB) approved Education Provider that is qualified to offer the Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) content specific training for students seeking a CAP and CAC designation. Each academic year, this grant will support a limited number of financial awards to undergraduate and certificate-seeking students committed to working with substance use/dependency and/or high-risk youth in rural and medically underserved Florida communities. The full grant award is for four years in the amount of $1,620,493.
